YUI Insight: Journal of Legal Development aims to serve as an academic journal that examines the dynamics of legal development from the perspectives of norms, practices, institutions, and innovation, with a focus on legal reform, the strengthening of regulatory capacity, and contributions to the advancement of a legal system that is responsive to contemporary socio-economic challenges.

 

YUI Insight: Journal of Legal Development welcomes manuscripts that examine legal development in its broad sense and its impact on governance, access to justice, and socio-economic development. The scope includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:

 

Studies on legislative reform, the legislative process, drafting of legislation, and regulatory impact assessment. Studies on the development of jurisprudence, emerging legal concepts, and judicial reasoning. Studies on law and development, particularly the role of law in economic, social, and institutional development. Access to justice, alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, and innovation in legal services. Studies on law and technology, including legaltech, artificial intelligence in law, regulation of digital platforms, data protection, and cyber law. Empirical studies on the implementation of law in practice, legal implementation gaps, and evaluation of reform programs. Comparative legal studies examining models of legal reform in other jurisdictions and policy learning. The interaction between law and public policy, including policy harmonization across sectors and mechanisms for regulatory synchronization.

 

YUI Insight: Journal of Legal Development supports a wide range of methodologies, including doctrinal analysis, legal ethnography, surveys, interviews, statistical analysis, regulatory impact assessment, legal experiments, and computational or legal informatics methods. Manuscripts are required to clearly articulate the research design, data sources, and procedures for verification and validation. YUI Insight: Journal of Legal Development prioritizes open access to broaden the dissemination and impact of scholarly findings. It is published twice a year on a semi annual basis, with the possibility of increasing publication frequency in accordance with editorial capacity and manuscript flow.
