About the Journal
YUI NurAdl : Journal of Islamic Legal and Human Rights aims to become a leading academic journal that advances interdisciplinary scholarship at the intersection of Islamic legal thought and the promotion of human rights. The journal concentrates on normative, historical, and applied dialogues that bridge Islamic legal traditions with universal human-rights principles, with the objective of producing legal discourse that is ethical, inclusive, and policy-relevant.
YUI NurAdl : Journal of Islamic Legal and Human Rights accepts manuscripts addressing the following topics, including but not limited to: Theoretical and historical studies of Islamic legal thought and their relevance to human-rights principles; Interpretation of sharia, maqâshid al-syarī‘ah, and hermeneutical approaches to legal texts; Family law from Islamic and human-rights perspectives; Comparative law analyses between Islamic norms and secular legal systems with respect to the protection of human rights; Normative dialogue and the harmonisation of religious norms with international instruments (treaties and conventions) concerning freedom of religion or belief, freedom of expression, and non-discrimination; Public-policy issues that implicate Islamic law (for example, religious education, zakat and social welfare, Islamic economic law) and their implications for the fulfilment of socio-economic rights; Empirical research on law-enforcement and adjudicative practices within Muslim communities and on the protection of vulnerable groups; Legal professional ethics, the role and functioning of religious courts (peradilan agama), and dispute-resolution mechanisms grounded in humanitarian values.
YUI NurAdl : Journal of Islamic Legal and Human Rights supports methodologies pertinent to the study of law and human rights, including doctrinal analysis, textual hermeneutics of religious sources, ethnographic and other qualitative approaches, statutory and legislative analysis, comparative legal research, and mixed-methods designs, provided that the chosen methodology and its validity are clearly justified and explicated. YUI NurAdl : Journal of Islamic Legal and Human Rights prioritizes open access (OA) to broaden the dissemination and impact of scholarly findings. Publication frequency: semi-annual (twice yearly), with the option to increase issuance depending on editorial capacity and manuscript throughput.
