Screening Plagiarism
YUI Adilitas: Journal of Justice and Legal Studies employs a strict plagiarism screening process to maintain the integrity and originality of the articles published. The maximum allowable similarity index, as measured by the Turnitin plagiarism detection tool, is set at 20%.
- Plagiarism Screening Process
- SubmissionAuthors submit their research articles to YUI Adilitas: Journal of Justice and Legal Studies for consideration, accompanied by a signed statement affirming the originality of their work and acknowledging any sources used appropriately.
- Plagiarism CheckUpon receipt of a submission, the editorial team performs a plagiarism check using the Turnitin software, comparing the manuscript against a vast database of academic and online sources.
- Similarity ReportThe detection tool generates a report highlighting sections of the manuscript that match existing sources, providing a percentage indicating the level of similarity detected.
- Editorial EvaluationThe editorial team carefully examines the similarity report, considering factors such as the extent of matching content, the originality of the work, and whether similarities are appropriately cited.
- Decision MakingBased on the evaluation, the team will proceed with one of the following:
- Acceptance: If the similarity index is below 20% and similarities are appropriately cited, the manuscript may proceed for further review.
- Revision: If the index exceeds the threshold or similarities are deemed unacceptable (e.g., unattributed verbatim copying), authors are notified and requested to revise their manuscript.
- Rejection: In cases of substantial plagiarism or fraudulent practices, the manuscript may be rejected outright with a clear explanation provided to the authors.
- Final EvaluationAfter authors submit their revised manuscript, the editorial team conducts a final evaluation to ensure the revisions are satisfactory and the similarity index falls within the acceptable range.
By implementing this process with a 20% threshold using Turnitin, YUI Adilitas: Journal of Justice and Legal Studies (published by YUIPublishing.id, E-ISSN: XXXX-XXXX) ensures that all published articles maintain high standards of originality and academic integrity.
